When Death Is Imminent

Whether There Are Hours, Days, or Weeks Remaining, Direct Cremation Is the Choice for Many

When time draws short and it’s time to plan for the end, many families begin planning for cremation. Just thinking about the future can be a challenge. With our online arrangements, Cremation Specialists is here to help make the process as quick and simple as possible. We’ve helped many families through the cremation process, and when death does occur, your family can rely on our expertise and care. If you’ve already decided cremation is your preferred choice, our online service simplifies arranging a direct cremation for you or your loved one.

Sixty percent of Americans prefer cremation to burial.  Many of our clients contact us when it’s clear death is imminent. Perhaps you have a family member in hospice who is unresponsive or you’re terminally ill with only days or weeks to live. In both instances, death is considered imminent, and in both instances, direct cremation is an appropriate choice for what comes next. If you or your loved one is facing this decision, consider what direct cremation offers.

We simplify decision making

Traditional memorial services require extensive planning, usually through a funeral home. Extensive planning, though, isn’t what many people want after losing a family member.

The last thing any of us want to leave behind is a burden on our loved ones. This motivation is a major reason why people are shifting towards cremation. Direct cremation services are simple to organize – so simple that you may not have to speak to a single person during the entire process, from ordering direct cremation to receiving your loved one’s cremated remains.

No hidden or excessive costs

The average cost of a funeral service is around $9,000 and rising – another potential burden. And yet, when attending a funeral, many people think “I don’t want my family to spend thousands on something like this.” It’s not how much money families spend to remember their loved ones, it’s how they choose to remember their loved ones.

Direct cremation is about 10 percent of the cost of a traditional service, funeral and burial. This includes everything, like the cost of transportation, refrigeration, required paperwork, and the cremation itself.

Freedom and flexibility to organize your own memorial

Cremation can be combined with your own unique memorial service anywhere you and your family prefer. This could be a traditional memorial service or it could be something as simple as scattering the ashes. Each family has their own thoughts and ideas of how to properly pay respect to a loved one, and direct cremation gives you the freedom and time to plan what’s right for your family. With cremation, there’s no urgency to plan your memorial immediately like there is with a burial. Whether your family prefers to memorialize right away or after some time has passed, cremation ensures there is no rush. This will give your loved ones time to make their own arrangements and travel.

No excessive transport costs

It is common for modern day families to live hundreds or even thousands of miles apart, often in different states. This makes organizing and attending a traditional service a challenge. If the decedent lived far away from their family, attending the funeral can be costly for family members. Additionally, transporting a human body across state lines is also expensive and can cost thousands of dollars. Cremated remains, though, can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. for a fraction of the cost. This is especially helpful for any family on a budget who wishes to bring their loved ones cremated remains back home.

Peace of mind

Compared to a traditional service, direct cremation costs less and is simple to arrange. And once scheduled, we can take it from there to minimize stress on your family. Rest assured and find peace in the fact that everything is taken care of and that your family won’t be pressured emotionally or financially when death occurs.

Cremation Specialists is a licensed, trusted provider of direct cremation services. We know what to do when death occurs and we’ll act immediately when it does. We oversee every step of the process, which looks like this:

We carefully remove the decedent’s body from the place of death

Once we are notified of a death, our removal technicians should arrive within a couple hours. Our technicians are trained and equipped to safely remove your loved one with dignity and care.

We transport and store the decedent’s remains in a secure facility

Once recovered, we will transport the decedent to our secure, refrigeration facility while finalizing the necessary paperwork.

We assist with any forms needed for official approval

For regulatory reasons, several forms will need to be provided to the state before cremation can be completed. We will provide you with all necessary forms that comply with all Federal and State laws and requirements.

We transport the decedent to the crematory

Once paperwork is finalized, we transport the decedent to the crematory for cremation. To ensure you receive the correct remains, we use a digital identification system throughout the process to ensure the cremated remains you receive belong to you.

Pick-up or delivery of your loved one’s remains is available

Following cremation, you can arrange to pick up the cremated remains, or for an extra fee, have them delivered within a short distance of our facilities, or have them shipped anywhere in the U.S.
